Our first conversation about starting this monumental adventure was somewhat in passing. It was in February of 2018. I remember I was sitting in front of my vanity in our old house in the Bay Area one Saturday, getting ready…

Oh man, let’s see how condensed we can make this, haha!! RVing became the obvious choice for many different reasons. I think our biggest reason was to get out of debt. We were military for years and multiple overseas moves…

We started full time RVing about three years ago for SO many reasons. God made it clear that our focus was off. Our eyes were opened to how much consumerism had shaped society and our lives. We wanted to enjoy…

When Justin and I decided to RV again, we did so with our past ventures in mind. Our idea was that it would be pretty much the same, just with a tiny human. I feel as though Emma has given us…

  • Meet Gwen and CJ, they have such passion when talking about their lives and their story really drew me in. I enjoyed reading about their points of views on this lifestyle. They are very open with all that went through their minds transitioning into Full-Timing. They shared a lot, so grab a snack, sit back, and enjoy.

Read their adventures here:

https://openroadchronicles.com/our-little-green-adventure/ "We decided to go for it. C.J. quit his job and began finding clients for what has now grown into our website design and development business, Little Green Development. I cut back my weekend hours as a Personal training manager at an Anytime Fitness and began the process of transferring my clients to other trainers. I started diving more into my original advertising and graphic design background in order to become a better asset in our new venture. We bought our RV in June, started selling and donating our stuff, and spent every weekend until September, renovating our rig, Adelaide, into our own tiny home. Since September we’ve been to 10 states, and haven’t had a single regret."
  • I just want to give a big shout out to all 800 of you guys who have joined us on Instagram, enjoying our features here on Open Road Chronicles. I appreciate you all so much! Happy Thursday everyone!
I have so many plans for this year and I'm eager to share with you all. We bought a tent and plan to do some adventuring with in the next few weeks! FINALLY!
  • A big thank you to Jessica and Ross for sharing their story this week. They are incredibly adventurous and I look forward to seeing where they go next with their family.
If you haven't read their story yet, check it out! They have some great ideas and info for those who are just getting started.

  • Adjustment is the key to becoming an RVer. It doesn't happen overnight, we slowly learn to love this lifestyle. We adjust our perspective of how much we need, how much space makes up a home, and our wants/needs out of life are adjusted as well. We adapt to this lifestyle, it doesn't come naturally at all. Enjoy the transition into the adventures.
When it comes to working while RVing Jessica and Ross have some great info about how they adjusted to their new lifestyle on the road. Read their story on Open Road Chronicles!

  • I hope everyone is enjoying their Monday. I love the beginning of the week. It has so much promise; you can create new expectations you have for yourself and your life right there at the start of your new week.

A new start is what I feel traveling is. In any form, not just RVing, traveling can create a whole expectation of how life should be for yourself. Even though Justin, Emma, and I are currently taking a break from our adventures I am always looking for something new to experience.

Don't forget to read Jessica and Ross' RVing journey and learn how they got started with their RV adventure.

  • Always be prepared, for RVing, for camping, for anything really. Life loves to give us big surprises. For RVers, I have heard many stories where they did not do research on common problems that occur with living in an RV.

Check out Jessica and Ross' experience with their RV's pipes. Read about the problem they ran in to and how they solved it with Ross turning into their personal handyman.

Read their post here:

https://openroadchronicles.com/exploring-as-a-family-ross-and-jessica/ "The day before leaving home in Heber City, UT, our pipes froze and busted the water pump. We had no idea what was wrong. We finally had a mobile RV repairman tell us it was the pump but wouldn’t help us due to the fact he was too lazy to deal with our insurance company. So Ross watched some YouTube videos, we spent less than $200 on a new pump, and Ross fixed the water! I was ready to pack it in and head home after day 4 of no water, but I am sure glad we didn’t! Since then, Ross is not only a plumber; he is also an electrician, IT specialist, mechanic, and just an all-around handyman!"
  • For those who RV, at what moment did you know you made the right choice? The thing is we won't know if we have made the right choice until we know. Funny how that works. Taking a chance like RVing the country is well worth it in my opinion.

When Jessica and Ross boondocked with their children, they had that moment of relief; that this huge step they took was the right one. Read Jessica and Ross' story on Open Road Chronicles and learn more about their experiences RVing.
Check out their story here!
https://openroadchronicles.com/exploring-as-a-family-ross-and-jessica/ "Boondocking at the Kelso Dunes in the Mojave National Preserve. The feeling of having no neighbors and such an incredible place to call home for a couple of days literally brought tears to my eyes. As I watched the kids run through the desert and just be kids. I had a sense of relief that I knew we had made the right choice. This was why we left everything we knew and starting full-timing."
  • Hey everyone! I am back from taking a week off and ready to share more amazing RV stories with you all.
This week we are featuring Jessica and Ross. They along with their children, Hazel and Finnegan travel the country full time in their RV.
Already being a very adventurous couple, Jessica and Ross wanted more than just small bursts of exciting experiences with their kids. They decided to share new and exciting adventures each and every day while RVing.

Go read their story and find out more about why they started RVing as a family of four on the road.

Read their story here: https://openroadchronicles.com/exploring-as-a-family-ross-and-jessica/

In our “sticks and bricks” home, we were working a combined 90-100+ hours each week and only spent real quality time together with the kids on the weekends. We were sick of working for the weekend! So, a combination of wanting to travel, downsize, and live more intentionally drove us to make the leap to full-time RVing. We wanted a truck for day trips and decided on a 5th wheel vs. a trailer for a little bit more space and the spacious feeling given by the vaulted ceilings.
