The Simple Stationary Life: Jon and Bethany

We are Jon and Bethany. We are two East Texans living full-time in our RV with our two cats, Chloe and Clyde! I have always wanted to go tiny and with Jon on board, we took the leap and sold our home! We wanted to live a life with less material things and be able to take our home wherever we go in the future.

Our Home On Wheels

We have a 37 foot Outback bumper pull camper that is currently stationary in East Texas. We painted the entire inside of the RV. All the walls white and most of the cabinets. Painting alone completely changed the look of our space. We added wallpapers, decor, all new furniture. It has truly gone from a camper to a HOME.

Because of our jobs, we have to stay stationary. We wanted something roomy enough to enjoy being in one spot and still living in a smaller space. I am a high school special education teacher and Jon works in the oil field.

Getting Used To This Lifestyle

Since we had two cats, we kept them in mind when RV shopping. We HAD to have a place for the lovely litter-box! 🙄 Our Solution was to make sure our RV came with outdoor storage so we could hide it away. Our cats have adjusted so well. They are loving the RV life. Don’t be afraid to bring your pets along, they will enjoy it as much as you!

(Taken From A Post)
I get asked what I miss most about living in a home all the time. One of the things I miss most is my little laundry room! Even though we have washer/dryer hookups in the RV, we use the space for other things. Plus its made for a small washer and dryer combo machine. I just wouldn’t mind doing one big load a week than tons of mini ones.

Enjoying The Moment

We have no idea how long we are going to live the tiny life. We plan to buy land and build a home in the future but for now, we are just enjoying our home on wheels!

  1. The fact that they made this RV so gorgeous is amazing. I love how they enjoy the small space and make it look so roomy. Bethany and Jon are a great example that you don’t have to travel to enjoy RVing.

  2. It’s good to see full-time RVers who aren’t just constantly traveling. There are a lot of people I meet that say they could never live in an RV because they think it means they absolutely have to travel the country. Sometimes it’s good to just downsize. Plus your home looks so cozy, no wonder you’re so happy in it 😀
