Our Travel Bucket List

Our Travel Bucket List

Everyone has places they wish to see. We all dream of the most beautiful and breathtaking locations. It’s still beyond me how lucky Justin and I are to have the capability to live the RV lifestyle. Without Justin, I wouldn’t have thought it was possible for me to make an RV our home. Now with that idea always in the back of my mind, I never want to stop living this life, seeing the places I only thought I would see in my dreams.

I’ve found that we seem to have a pattern of the types of locations we wish to see when we hit the road again. Justin and I both have lived where there has been a beach access most of our lives, so we find the mountains and central areas more interesting. You always want what you don’t have, right? So, for our list, we want to see the places we wouldn’t have had the privilege to see if we had not started traveling.

Where We Want to Visit Again and Why

I want to start this list off with the places we wish to see again, either because they are so beautiful or because we didn’t really have the chance to see what we wanted.

Our Travel Bucket List

Anchor Down RV Resort in Dandridge, Tennessee

The view in Dandridge was what sparked our eye for seeing the mountains when we travel again. I always talk about going back to Dandridge when we mention traveling again. Next time though we want to go hiking in the Smoky Mountains. Us being educated very little with our surrounding didn’t know we were only a few hours from the Smoky Mountains. That is our biggest bucket list so far on places we want to visit again.

The Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona

We had a trip to California a few months before we stopped traveling and we stayed in Flagstaff, Arizona for a mear 8 hours just to get some sleep and get back on the road. I have to say, I was the one who rushed us through Arizona so we could get to California to see my family. In doing that we missed a lot, including the Grand Canyon. Next time around we want to see our surroundings more.

Our Travel Bucket List

MT Hood in Oregon

In general, we want to go back to Oregon, just this time we want to have an RV and see the amazing state on the road. We didn’t like the rain that was practically all year but we enjoyed the company of the people who lived there, and nature we always felt connected to. I felt like people always wanted to be outside despite the weather and it was incredibly encouraging. When I went on a hike with some friends of ours I had an amazing time just taking in the natural elements. I never thought I would enjoy hiking that much but I have been itching to go on another hike. Hopefully, soon we can mark all these off our redo bucket list.

Places We Wish to See for the First Time

Making a list of going to new and exciting places is hard. There are so many places it’s hard to pick just a few to talk about. Like I said earlier we are more drawn to places we haven’t experienced much in our lives. That’s the whole point of a travel bucket list though right.

I really want to see Colorado, I won’t narrow it down to where since I want to see it all basically, and all it has to offer. We almost moved to Colorado but Oregon won that battle in where our next home would be. So, we already have the drive to visit Colorado, I’ve heard about so many places to hike in Colorado, the Rocky Mountains, Aspen, and  Boulder. I would love to boondock in Colorado. Wake up with nothing around us but dirt under our feet and mountains to climb.

Now don’t laugh, my next one is very random. Kentucky, I have no reason other than I love the name and want to say I’ve been to Kentucky. Honestly, what’s wrong with that though? There is something interesting in every state so I’m sure I’ll find something amazing in Kentucky. If you have been to Kentucky let me know what you found to be interesting about the state. Anything to convince Justin that I am not weird on my reasoning will do.

Things We Want to do on the Road

On our bucket list we have so many places we want to go, so here are some of the things we want to do when we see these places.

Our Travel Bucket List

Go Hiking Everywhere

I have no particular place I want to go except new places. When it comes to hiking we know very little. My hope is we become a well educated and experienced hiker. I can’t wait to travel and go to a whole new piece of land I have never set foot on.

Meeting New People

I’m sure most people know when you travel out of the country you will experience a completely different culture and way of life that people live by. I didn’t know the same thing went with going to other states when traveling the United States. Not only are the scenic views different but the people, places, and types of personalities you run into. We haven’t really run into bad company much, but we have experience not so friendly groups and people you know for five minutes that invite you to their home to be friendly. I can’t say it’s in a particular location in the United States since the randomness of hospitality is what excites me a lot for traveling. You really never know who you will get a chance to meet that day and where they will take you.

Learning How to Boondock

Justin and I know a little about boondocking, but we have never really relied just on an RV without hookups before. This is something I look forward to a lot. I want to know what it’s like to say “oh no RV park, that’s fine we can just boondock”.

Our Travel Bucket List

Traveling with Emma

We have traveled before with just ourselves and our two pets Tally and Teddy. Traveling with Emma is what we look forward to the most out of everything on our list. Not only will we be new parents, we will be new parents on constant adventures with our little girl. I am so thankful to be able to show her the world for what it is up close and beautiful. I can’t wait to check this one off our list the most, and knowing it won’t end after we cross it off makes it even more exciting.

Being able to mark anything off our bucket list is such a fun experience and I never want to stop. As our list gets longer we hope to experience more rather than dream about the adventures we could have. Our lives are to short for making a list and not checking any of the boxes off. Here’s to amazing adventures and new places to see.

Let me know about your bucket lists for traveling and where you want to go. Have you marked any off your list yet?
